The Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy is published
quarterly by the Research Center of Humanities and Social Sciences, Academic
Sinica. Contributions from maritime history, socioeconomic history, political
thought and philosophy, economics, empirical political studies, sociology, and
social welfare are especially welcome. Contributions should be based on
theoretical and/or empirical research in the humanities and social sciences. The
journal also features articles reviewing the literature in these areas which is
published in Taiwan.
Papers submitted to this journal should not be under consideration by any other
journals at the same time. Previously published articles will not be considered.
Contributors also should comply with the following guidelines:
1. Manuscripts should be typed, double-spaced and not exceed 20,000 words
in 3 copies. Electronic file compatible with MS Word should be provided in disk
or via email.
2. The author’s name, position, institutional affiliation and complete
mailing address, and the title of the article should appear on the title page; a
list of key-words should also be supplied.
3. An abstract of approximately 250 words, in both English and Chinese,
including the title of the article, the key-words, the author’s name and
institutional affiliation should accompany each article.
4. For articles written in English, citations within the text should
include the author’s name, date of publication and page numbers. Footnotes must
be typed and numbered sequentially and a bibliography must be included at the
end of the article.
5. A brief foreword and/or an epilogue is not required, but may be
included. All manuscripts are evaluated by anonymous reviewers. If published,
each contributor will receive 50 off-prints of the article as well as five
copies of the Journal.
