Founded in 2002, SOCIETAS: A Journal for Philosophical Study of Public Affairs is an academic jouranal published by the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS), Academia Sinica. It has been indexed in TSSCI since 2005 and included in the lists of THCI and TSSCI core journals since 2017. 

SOCIETAS: A Journal for Philosophical Study of Public Affairs is an interdisciplinary journal for enquiries on the relations between normative theory and empirical research. It publishes research articles, review articles, book reviews, and forum discussions from multiple fields, including political philosophy, legal theory, ethics, social theories, and critical discussions on current public affairs. This journal is the first academic journal dedicated for normative political and social theories in Taiwan. It is highly regarded in Chinese academic circles.

The current editor-in-chief is Dr. Carl K.Y. Shaw and the current executive editor is Dr. Chia-Ming.
