本文研究戰前（1927–1940）檳城中國國民黨三大週邊機構：檳城閱書報社（The Philomathic Union of Penang）、鍾靈學校（Chung Ling High School）紀念孫中山之活動及《光華日報》（Kwong Wah Yit Poh）報導評述以瞭解孫中山精神在檳城的傳承。探討紀念孫中山的節日為雙十國慶（10月10日）、孫中山忌辰日（3月12日）和誕辰（11月12日）。本文從檳城閱書報社策劃推動紀念大會或儀式、鍾靈學校的教化參與、《光華日報》報導宣傳來看這三者如何互相配合，以紀念孫中山來喚起檳城華社對孫中山的記憶，使孫中山精神得以在檳城傳承。

This article studies three peripheral organisations of the Chinese Kuomintang in Penang, which are the Philomathic Union of Penang, Chung Ling High School with their commemoration activities and report commentary of “Kwong Wah Yit Poh” to understand the inheritance of Sun Yat-sen’s Spirit in Penang before the Second World War (1927–1940). The commemoration dates studied which directly or indirectly commemorate Sun Yat-sen are Double Tenth National Day (10 October), Anniversary of the Death of Sun Yat-sen (12 March), and his birthday (12 November). Therefore, this article looks at the planning and promotion of commemorative meetings or ceremonies by the Philomathic Union of Penang, the indoctrination and participation of Chung Ling High School, and the report propaganda of “Kwong Wah Yit Poh”, to understand how these three organisations mutually cooperate in commemorating Sun Yat-sen to evoke the memory of the Penang Chinese community towards Sun which helped in the inheritance of Sun Yat-sen’s Spirit in Penang.
