About the Journal
The Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy (JSSP) is published quarterly by the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS), Academia Sinica. It is a leading journal indexed in the Taiwan Social Sciences Core Index (TSSCI).  

About the Special Issue
This special issue invites submissions for “Engaged Scholarship: Taiwan Experiences in the Global Trend.” New patterns of knowledge production and growing sustainability threats have challenged the traditional roles of academics. Scholarly activities are becoming more value-driven and are expected to have a greater impact on the real world. The discussion on the ontological, epistemological, and methodological implications of practice-oriented scholarship is expanding within international academic communities. With government subsidies, Taiwanese academics have adopted a new role and gained valuable experience over the past decade. This special issue aims to host a symposium to showcase Taiwan's achievements and lay the foundation for further development worldwide.

Submission Process
All papers are to be submitted online through the JSSP submission system (http://jssp.rchss.sinica.edu.tw/) by December 31, 2025. 
The format of submissions must comply with submission guidelines posted on the JSSP website: https://www.rchss.sinica.edu.tw/jssp/posts/6005. Submissions either in English or in Chinese are welcome. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for consideration for this special issue, it is important that authors select “Special Issue: Engaged Scholarship” section of the submission system. All submitted manuscripts will be subject to the Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy’s double-blind review process.
