摘要：
人際互動是促進中老年人身心健康的重要推手，但中老年人常因退休、身體退化等與年紀相關的因素，減少社交活動，如何透過臉書、LINE等社群媒體等管道增進老人與他人互動的機會，在高齡化社會是重要的議題；然而，社群媒體相關研究長期以來著重年輕族群，各界對中老年人社群媒體使用與其潛在影響所知甚少。本次演講將從三個實證研究出發，討論中老年人使用社群媒體的可能原因以及潛在影響，並建議如何設計出更符合中老年人需求的社群媒體平台。

Abstract:
While social interactions have powerful positive impacts on older adults’ physical and mental health, older adults often have reduced social interactions due to age-related changes, such as retirement and health. This paradox faced by older adults has raised the important questions about how to use social media, such as Facebook and LINE, to facilitate their interactions with others in aging societies. However, as social media research has long been focused on younger age groups, relatively little is known about older adults’ social media usage patterns and their subsequent effects. In this talk, Rebecca will draw on three empirical studies to discuss the antecedents and consequences of social media use among older adults, and provide insights for designing social media platforms that can better fit older ad
