講題：Screenomics Assay: Profiling digital lives on the smartphone

摘要：The Stanford Human Screenome Project has developed a research framework, Screenomics, for studying social, health, and psychological outcomes of technology use. The backbone of this research framework is a computational system that collects, stores, and processes screenshots of digital devices taken every few seconds when they are in use. Through this framework, researchers have observed real-world use of technology and media at an unprecedented level of detail and published research on important social and psychological topics. Our most recent wave of data collection covered hundreds of smartphone users for a year. This dataset, intended for understanding the effects of the pandemic on health and wellbeing, has presented significant challenges to our infrastructure. This talk discusses how we are improving our infrastructure and building a pipeline for feature extraction that will facilitate research on human behavior and media use. We will also present some preliminary results of analyzing these features as examples of upcoming research projects.
